Fire Protection
While unknown to many, NFPA does allow for a water well to provide fire protection. There are numerous stipulations that must be met, but in some instances it is a viable option.
Case History:
Syngenta Seeds Inc. constructed a 100,000 sq/ft warehouse in Johnson County, Iowa. Johnson County not only required the installation of a fire detection system, but also a fire suppression system. The System was to require 1350 GPM in case of a fire. Time constraints and location proved that a water well was a real possibility. After initially contacting the Fire Marshall's office, it was determined that a WATER WELL could be installed quicker and be within the budget of other options. In addition the water well required considerable less annual maintenance than other options, and the footprint required for the system would be relatively small.
Gingerich Well Drilling constructed a well capable of supplying the 1350 GPM and completed the project on schedule. This option allowed Syngenta to use the new warehouse sooner than was anticipated and long term costs are considerable less than any other system available to the site.

Testimonial- "The scope of the project was to construct a "Jordan Well" capable of producing enough water to power our sprinkler system for the newly constructed 100,000 square feet seed storage warehouse.
